Not Crazy

Your white wall zoom background makes it look like you’re in an insane asylum.

Initial consultation (he looks like he’s being held hostage)

This was the frequent joke among Nick’s colleagues. Nick works from his home in one of Boston’s more urban neighborhoods. A train station and major highway are both within earshot. The one small window in his office faces another building. There are no trees or greenery in sight. It’s not an inspiring setting and does nothing to reflect his individual style.

Tired of staring at the plain white walls and seeking something unique, Nick commissioned a one-of-a-kind Moss Art work.

In our initial consultation I asked questions to understand Nick’s personal foresthetic. He shared that he grew up in a heavily wooded area, worked at a golf course as a teenager, frequents Nantucket, and loves deep, rich greens, and bright pops of color—especially orange. He gravitates to pieces with open expanses of green, scattered flowers, and textured lichens.

He wanted a large moss art piece to put on the wall behind his desk. Working in sales, Nick spends most of his day in virtual meeting with clients and colleagues. The Moss Art piece will be the focal point of the room serve as a captivating background for virtual meetings. We decided on something approximately 30 x 40 inches in a large, black frame.

I foraged most of the moss for his piece near his childhood home. This chipmunk is my new friend. Look at how cool that furry moss is! My preservation techniques preserve both the beautiful color and delicate and rich textures.

The best part about creating commissioned pieces is seeing the smile on the client's face when they see their one-of-a-kind moss art piece for the first time. As you can see, Nick was all smiles!

His zoom background looks much better.

Nick's home office was transformed from a boring, uninspiring room to a vibrant oasis. His co-workers used to joke that it looked like he was in an insane asylum on virtual meetings because of the sterile surroundings. I think it's safe to say he won't hear feedback like that anymore.

If you're ready to elevate your space with captivating art that reflects your unique style, I'm here to help. Let's transform your walls into a sanctuary from the chaos of everyday life. Reach out to commission your own work of art.
