This commission began with a place.

My client wanted a piece that reflected the Cape Cod home that had been in her family for generations—a home she loved, but could not fill with living plants year-round.

She gathered moss, lichens and driftwood from the property and asked whether I might be able to incorporate them into the finished work. Those materials became part of the piece itself, creating a direct connection between the artwork and the land around the home.

Drifting Home was shaped through a collaborative process, with attention to the colors, textures and feeling of Cape Cod. The final piece brings the natural beauty of the property indoors, without the care requirements of living plants.
