Contemporary Abstract Watercolor Paintings
About the work
I’m interested in the tension between what holds and what gives way.
I work primarily in watercolor, flooding, lifting, scraping back and rebuilding until forms begin to emerge. I’m drawn to what the medium does on its own, but also to how far I can push it without losing the transparency and movement that make watercolor so compelling.
I want the paintings to register from a distance and reveal more as you move closer.
Botanical Works
Before turning to watercolor, I created sculptural works from foraged and preserved mosses, lichens and other botanical materials.
Featured in two solo exhibitions and held in private collections across the country, these pieces remain available through a limited number of commissions.
